Every brand and model is set up a little differently, so it pays to know how the one you are interested in works. One of the best places to find information on the potential GPS unit you are thinking of buying is by going to golf forums and seeing what other people are talking about. You don’t want to just take the manufacturer’s word for it, rather you want to find out what other golfers think about these units.

The first thing you want to consider is where the GPS can actually be used. In other words, can it be used anywhere in the world or just in a certain area of the country? You also want to know if you have to pay any kind of additional annual fee in order to access the course information. In addition, you want to know what kind of power supply the unit has how and long the batteries will last. This is obviously important when you’re out on the golf course and you need the unit to work the whole time you’re there.
